Hello and welcome, the following is a quick intro and a brief explanation as to what to expect from the programming ahead and what our objective is with you as an athlete. Donnybrook Athletics and Head Coach Geoff O’Hara have been providing coaching services driven towards optimal improvement in multiple sports for over a decade. Having competitive experience at international level in multiple sports as an undersized athlete has led to a lifetime of personal development and learning aimed at helping any athlete at any point in their own journey in sport get to the next level and potentially a level they may never have thought possible, we aim to do this as efficiently as possible and approach as many different aspects of learning and improvement possible, not just advancing athletes physically but also mentally. Our goal is to help people improve in sport, performance, mental, physical, social and emotional health. Our path. On my own journey I have been fortunate enough to be able to make a life from sport, competing at a professional level in Ice Hockey for over a decade, playing in Canada, USA and Europe and being part of a team winning multiple national titles, also competing in MMA, Muay Thai, Boxing, Grappling, BJJ and Wrestling before making coaching these sports my full time way of life again being fortunate enough to work with athletes competing on every stage in multiple sports from those just starting the journey through to some of the best in the world in Hockey (NHL) and MMA (UFC, Bellator, One FC etc) it has been an utter privilege to make a living this way and I pride myself in providing the best possible assistance for each individual athlete. Your path. The programming delivered through our one to one and online system is individualised for every athlete. Although the best in the world all share similar traits in the requirements of their sports, each athlete is at a different stage of development and although some essentials are absolutely necessary for all, all will require a particular focus on overcoming obstacles to get to the next level. Our programming is heavily focused on the following for each athlete and the more information communicated with the coach, the more the program can be tailored to drive the best adaptation possible.

Your program. When you open the programming platform (kindly provided by TrueCoach) please remember the most important factors in getting everything you want from this system:
Communication- please let us know as much as you can, let us know how you felt, what was hard, what was easy. Fill in data, your statistics are important, we regularly ask for “Metrics” this is a score from a particular part of a session and is usually revisited as a bench mark of improvement. The app has the option to upload videos, chat, discuss with coaches and others from our community the more input you give the more you will get in return.
Consistency- this is the big secret all of the best on the plant share! Just getting it done, good session, bad session, hot, cold, travelling, working or even if everything is absolutely perfect to get it done....just get it done. Those who want barriers will give themselves barriers and those who truly want to improve will find a way! This program does not require fancy gyms or equipment or even time (it is less than 15 mins of activity daily to achieve levels you may not have thought possible) JUST GET IT DONE- the longer you are consistent the more you will improve, nobody on the planet woke up and was the best in the world, the most “Talented” athlete you can think of is (I assure you) has been the most consistent in their commitment to improving.
Committed- give everything time, again if you complete two sessions and stop, you are simply not giving yourself even a chance of reaching your potential. We will give you evidence and benchmark to measure your improvement as we go but make sure you commit to improving, give yourself permission, keep working no matter if it’s easy or hard and do yourself justice. Community- your own, ours and some you haven’t met yet are out there and will help you expand your knowledge, strive to improve, support you and be there when you need them and when they need you. It’s part of why we participate in sport, get up early, travel and go to bed late. Be part of something amazing!
Complete- the prescription of activity takes no more than 15 minutes a day, buy in, do it completely and deliberately try to improve the quality of your movements. The best in the world in any sport all share a trait called “virtuosity” which is the drive to perform the most fundamental parts of the sport to the highest level possible. Enjoy putting your ego aside and really learning to improve.
Confident- our training is specifically designed to promote confidence in movement patterns and develop complete control over your own body before you ever see added resistance from of any form, we aim to build confidence and control, removing the need for equipment and taking risk to a minimum wherever possible.
Character- we constantly try to uphold ourselves as the type of athlete that we want to see in the world. Hard working, dedicated, honest, we value effort and ethics and we encourage and cheer for the success of others.
